Joining adjectives

In English, we can join adjectives using commas or and. In Japanese, connecting adjectives requires a special adjective endings, -くて、-で .

1) Her hair is long and black.

Kanojo no kami wa nagakute kuroi desu.

彼女の髪は長くて黒いです。

long .. nagai .. 長い

2) This lake is deep and dangerous.

Kono mizūmi wa fukakute abunai desu.

この湖は深くて危ないです。

deep .. fukai .. 深い

3) That movie was intense, furious and spectacular.

Ano eiga wa kyōretsude, mōretsude, sōzetsu deshita.

あの映画は強烈で、猛烈で、壮絶でした。

intense .. kyōretsuna .. 強烈な

furious .. mōretsuna .. 猛烈な

4) Homework is simple and short.

Shukudai wa kantande mijikai desu.

宿題は簡単で短いです。

simple .. kantan .. 簡単
