For those who want to use their computer as a tool to learn their vocabulary there is a small but smart program available: Teach2000
It is available from the website:

http://www.teach2000.nl

The best part is.. it's free. You might have to endure the hassle of the site being entirely in dutch, but the link to download the program is conveniently labelled "download" and is located in the column on the left side of the screen. Once you followed the download link, choose "Full version" and save to your harddisk.
After downloading the program you can install in one of three optional languages: Dutch, English or German (I guess english is most convenient for most of you) After installing you can add your lists of words and start learning.... maybe we can then add a place on this site where people learning can exchange their lists of words and other things to learn.

I think working with it is quite self explanatory, there's an example upon opening the program and it comes with a number of other example lists for you to fiddle with. If you have questions, feel free to ask.

straipsnis apie Latviją, bet galas apie bendradarbiavimą gana aktualus man pasirodė. Laimi, turim, kur plėstis, - pareiškiu tai kaip ekonomistė, išnagrinėjusi ateities perspektyvas :wink: :)

sorry for non-lithuanian-speakers!

My favourite online dictinoary so far:

http://www.progress.lt/cgi-bin/intraled.exe?status=0

Very quick and easy to use, English/German to and from Lithuanian.

lietuvių <-> anglų
vokiečių <-> lietuvių

I use it non-stop for finding the right word in lithuanina from an english word. It helps to search for an english word which usually returns more than one lithuanian word. Then switch back to lt->en and look up the words that were returned. This double-checking reveals more differences between the words and makes it easier to pick the right one.

http://www.lietpol.w3.lt/lt/index.html <- in Lithuanian

the Lithuanian version is for Lithuanian people,learning Polish language and the Polish version is for Poles learing Lithuanian; it contains grammars and dictionaries of both languages

Hey!

I don't know how many of you are familiar with the Euro Languages Net Project...

It is aimed at helping people learn less widely used and less taught languages of the EU.

Here's the link to the Lithuanian site.

http://www.euro-languages.net/lithuania ... hp?lang=lt

You can find lots of exercises, tests, etc.

Plus, a distance learning project is also accessible;)

Have fun.

Tomas.

Something like an online language course in Lithuanian.
By the University of Texas at Austin.

It's pretty helpful, it discusses all the major points of Lithuanian grammar, and it presents the language through literary examples.
Full vocabulary, etc.

I think I'll read it through in the coming weeks, I need to practice before the summer courses begin in late June;)

Oh, then I also want to share an equally useful link. I think every modern person uses the Internet and online translators. But for example, for a very long time I could not find a decent and competent translator. Because some distorted words, on some resources when translating a large amount of text, logic was lost in sentences. And on this site https://www.translate.com/ everything is correct and clear. Just because my work involves the constant study of foreign texts, I need this resource.
