Natalija „bendruomenės“ forume padarė temą, kur deda tekstus.
In the Community forum, Natalija made a topic, where she puts texts.

Aš pagalvojau, kad reikia skaitinius dėti atskirai ir ne „bendruomenės“, o šitame forume.
I thought that it's needed to put texts apart and not in the Community, but in this forum.

Nežinojau, ką dėti, tai nuėjau į rašyk.lt. Ieškojau trumpo, lengvo tekstuko, bet radau tik tokį trumpą, bet nelabai lengvą:
I didn't know what to put, so I went to rašyk.lt. I was looking for a short, easy little text, but found only such short, but not really easy one:

Parašė: pagrandukė

Mano darbai

Man mama pasakė, vaike, [To me mother said: child,]
Kambarį tvarkyti reikia. [it's needed to clean the room.]
Pažiūrėk, kaip nusiminę [Look, how sad are]
Tavo kambario kaimynai. [your room neighbours]

Pažiūrėjau, ir tikrai
Suversti kampe žaislai.
Išbarstytos kaladėlės,
Sriūbauja kamputy lėlės.

Liūdi kiškis nulėpausis,
Ilgą laiką nesiprausęs.
Ir knygelės gailiai rauda.
Viršelius knygelėms skauda.

Mama, viską sutvarkysiu.
Čia namelį pastatysiu,
Susodinsiu čia lėles,
Sudėliosiu knygeles.

Taip plušėjau visą rytą.
Eikš, mamyte, sutvarkyta.
Linksma mano kambary
Gal darbelių dar turi?

Nelengvas tekstas, tikrai. Bandžiau išversti antrą šio teksto pastraipą. Kaip man sekėsi?
For sure, not an easy text. I tried to translate this text's second paragraph. How did I do?

Pažiūrėjau, ir tikrai [I looked, and for sure]
Suversti kampe žaislai. [Toys topsyturvy in the corner.]
Išbarstytos kaladėlės, [Scattered building blocks,]
Sriūbauja kamputy lėlės. [Dolls crying in the corner.]

Jau pavargiau (=pavargau) :)
Already got tired

Ačiū, kad prikėlei šitą temą :).
Thanks for reviving this topic.

Šitas tekstas tikrai sunkus, bet pagaliau atsirado, kas jį sugebėjo suprasti :).
This text is really hard, but finally there appeared someone who managed to understand it :).

I just looked up this strange word "topsyturvy". Yes, it has the meaning of "suversti". At first I thought you made a typo or something :).

Kitą kartą parinksiu lengvesnį tekstą .
Next time I'll select an easier text.

Ačiū už pagyrimą, tačiau viską suradau su žodyno pagalba. Be jo beveik nieko nesuprasčiau. :?
Thanks for the compliment, however I found everything with the help of a dictionary. Without it I wouldn't understand anything.

I tried to translate the last part also but had some problems. I have put questionmarks, where I didn't quite follow. Can someone help me? Also check the rest. I wrote something completely different on the sentence Susodinsiu čia lėles. Here I will plant some flowers. Hehe. I read gėles and then something close to sodas in the beginning so susodinti must be plant, i thought. Good to have a dictionary.

Liūdi kiškis nulėpausis, [Lop-eared hare is sad,]
Ilgą laiką nesiprausęs. [Not washed in a long time.]
Ir knygelės gailiai rauda. [Also the books tearfully lament.]
Viršelius knygelėms skauda. [The book cover is hurting.]

Mama, viską sutvarkysiu. [Mother, all I have tidied.]
Čia namelį pastatysiu, [Here I will build a house,]
Susodinsiu čia lėles, [Here I will seat dolls,]
Sudėliosiu knygeles. [I will ? books]

Taip plušėjau visą rytą. [So I toiled the whole morning.]
Eikš, mamyte, sutvarkyta. [?, mummy, cleaned.]???
Linksma mano kambary [It is merry in my room]
Gal darbelių dar turi? [Maybe you have some more work?]

Gal pastebėjote, kad man trūksta užduočių.
Maybe you have noticed, that I don't have any projects.

Gal kitas žingsnis, parašyti taip, kad ir anglų tekstas rimuotų  Ne, pajuokauju.
Maybe next step is to write so that also the english text would rhyme. No, just joking.

/Thomas

Ilgą laiką nesiprausęs. [Not washed in a long time.]
Or "Not having washed in a while"

Viršelius knygelėms skauda. [The book cover is hurting.]
Or would it be that "The covers of the books/booklets are in pain (or hurting)"

Susodinsiu čia lėles, [Here I will seat dolls,]
Or "Here I will put the dolls"

Mama, viską sutvarkysiu. [Mother, all I have tidied.]
Or could it be "Mother, I will put everything in order" or "..., everything I will put in it's place"
Čia namelį pastatysiu, [Here I will build a house,]
Or maybe "Here I will put up the cottage (playhouse)"
Sudėliosiu knygeles. [I will ? books]
Or "I will put the booklets in order"

Taip plušėjau visą rytą. [So I toiled the whole morning.]
Or "This way I toiled the whole morning"
Eikš, mamyte, sutvarkyta. [?, mummy, cleaned.]???
Maybe "Come here, mom, it's in order." or "..., it's done"
Gal darbelių dar turi? [Maybe you have some more work?]
Or "Maybe you have some more chores"

I noticed Thomas that you probably had in mind to translate similar poetic sentences in english. But I took a shot at some of the phrases with a different approach. Although to make a truly poetic translation you would have to change the meaning somewhat.
